A weekend full of medals. The Israeli athletes in Sambo, a branch operating in Israel under the “Eilat” association, represented the State of Israel with great pride at the World Sambo Championships held today in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, and managed to bring an impressive achievement: Athlete Alice Schlesinger won a gold medal, Archie Wolfson Won a bronze medal.
Alice says: “I had a crazy day and no one is happier than me to express hope at the end. The day was very challenging, I had a really hard draw and I am glad I was able to overcome myself in the difficult moments. In one of the early fights I injured my hip and the final was in question. “He put me on, we decided that I would advance to the finals. Our tactics were a bit different following the injury and I am glad it proved itself.
