Chris Martin suffers from severe pneumonia: The band Coldplay announced today (Wednesday) the postponement of the shows planned in South America – this is due to an acute lung infection from which the band’s singer Chris Martin is suffering.
“It is with deep regret that we have had to postpone our upcoming shows in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo to early 2023,” the band’s Instagram post reads.
Coldplay explained that Martin was instructed by his doctor to rest for the next three weeks due to a serious lung infection.
“We are working as quickly as possible to close the new dates and hope to publish more information about them in the coming days,” the statement said.
Coldplay’s performance in Sao Paulo, in 2017:
Coldplay announced that whoever purchased a ticket would be able to use it on the new dates of the postponed shows, and that the band would also allow refund requests for show cancellations.
