Arvindsamy starrer Rentakam movie banned in OTD: ICourt order

Chennai: The Chennai High Court has ordered an interim ban on the release of Arvind Samy starrer Rendakam in OTT in India. The film directed by Fellini was recently released as Rendakam in Tamil and Ottu in Malayalam. Meanwhile, Kishore Kumar from Valasarawak, Chennai has filed a petition in the Chennai High Court seeking a ban on the release of the movie Rendakam on October 6.

In Manu, I had narrated the story of this film to actor Arvind Samy to direct it under the name ‘Java’. After registering this story and obtaining the copyright for it, my story was released in Tamil as a movie called ‘Rendagam’. Therefore, he had requested to ban the publication of this film on the OTT site. This case was heard before Justice C. Saravanan. Advocate C. Ayyapparaj and Balasubramanian appeared on behalf of the petitioner.

The judge who heard the case has ordered an interim ban on the release of Rendakam on the OTT platform in India. Further, the judge ordered that five people including the production company should deposit ten lakh rupees each in the court by the 10th and adjourned the hearing to the 10th.
