The artists are not to blame for having objects thrown at them, but also a little bit

by time news
This phenomenon has already become familiar: in the last few months, quite a few artists have been getting hit on the head, literally, at concerts. Israelis, mostly young people, who come to concerts, throw objects on the stage. From water bottles, necklaces (?), berets, to one shawarma appa – except for the turkey-veal mix, which Ravid Plotnik received quite lovingly – in most cases it doesn’t really end well. Eden Hasson was the one who stopped a show about two weeks ago, a week ago it was Agam Bohbot who performed as part of her military service – but already in June she warned that it would become a trend.

What do all these cases have in common? that these are not concerts for which we bought tickets. I mean, it’s not true fans of the singers. This happens at festivals that were closed in front of municipalities, large companies and National Insurance (however you define them). It is hard to believe that a person who invested from his own pocket and bought a ticket, arranged for parking and came to a concert of a singer he likes – would throw up and do something that could damage the event.

Blaming the victim is not an acceptable thing, but perhaps the Israeli artists should still filter out some “addicted performances”, those whose tickets are all sold in advance to some organization and the audience attends for free. For Margi, Itai Levy, Yasmin Moalem or Tona, let’s say, it will probably never happen. Those who are in the music business just to make money should know that there is a conversion fee.
