A forest fire broke out during the night (Saturday and Sunday) in the Hacienda forest in Maalot Tarshiha. Some of the houses were evacuated, and there is a danger to human life, firefighters and rescue services said. It was further reported that forces were called from all over the district.
Over the weekend a significant wave of fires was recorded, with many fires breaking out across the country. One of the hotspots was a wadi near the Goethe settlement in the Ma’ale Yosef Regional Council. Additional fires broke out in Moshav Zeitan in the center, which broke out near Abu Ghosh and near the woods.
Other localities where fires were recorded during Saturday are Kfar Yassif, an olive grove fire near Road 70, Yarka, Wadi al-Magnona and Kfar Kabul. Another fire broke out behind the Granot factory in the Hadera area.
As mentioned, thousands of homes were evacuated as a result over the weekend. No injuries were reported in the body or mind, but property damage was recorded.
