The central and state governments have announced that a second new airport will be set up in the rural areas of Kanchipuram district and Paranthur in an area of ​​about 4,750 acres.

Due to this, residences and agricultural lands in 13 villages including Paranthur, Ekanapuram and Nelwai are to be acquired. Protesting against this, the people of Parantur and other villages are engaged in a series of protests.

In particular, the people of Ekanapuram panchayat, which is completely affected, have been protesting continuously for the past 73 days. Leaders of political parties and administrators of various movements are meeting the protesting people and expressing their support.

In this situation, the people of Ekanapuram area who are engaged in continuous protest met Pratachi Bharatham Party leader and KV Kuppam Legislative Assembly Member Pooja Jaganmurthy on Friday and expressed their support.

Later, Jaganmurthy spoke: Governments want to destroy agricultural land and build an airport. The livelihood of the people of this region, who depend only on agriculture, will be completely affected. He said that the government should take a policy decision to set up the airport in other places other than residential and agricultural lands so as not to affect the people.
