On the 55th Martyrdom Day, the world commemorates the immortal revolutionary Ernesto Guevara. During the Bolivian liberation struggle, Guevara, who was captured by Bolivian mercenaries with the help of the American spy agency CIA, was executed without trial on October 9, 1967. More than half a century after his martyrdom, Che remains a symbol of resilience.
Born in Rosario, Argentina on June 14, 1928, Che became a major force in the Cuban Revolution alongside Fidel Castro. Che’s life and martyrdom will forever remain a source of strength for leftist movements.
