If the gum swelling persists for longer than two weeks, you should consult your dentist, to get the appropriate treatment based on the cause, such as antibiotics to fight infection and mouthwash to treat gingivitis.

Moreover, there are home methods for treating gums, most notably:

Brushing and flossing the teeth daily.

Use dental floss gently, to get rid of food residues.

Rinsing the mouth with a saline solution, to eliminate bacteria and fungi.

Drinking plenty of water to encourage the salivary glands to secrete more saliva, given that dry mouth is one of the factors that increase the activity of bacteria and stimulate them to multiply.

– Quit Smoking.

Stay away from transformers.
