The police arrested a young man from Ashdod on suspicion of stabbing another man and slightly injuring him. From the discussion on the extension of his detention, it appears that the suspect’s mother was attacked, allegedly, by the street gang. She began to cry for help and her son, who heard her cries, came to the scene and stabbed the man on the street in his leg.
After the stabbing, the suspect left the scene. The police forces that were called to the scene began investigating the incident, and a short time later the suspect was arrested.
The police requested on Saturday night to extend his detention by six days. His defense attorney requested that the days of detention be reduced, noting that the background to the incident was the assault suffered by the suspect’s mother.
The court decided to extend his detention until September 11 for the purpose of continuing the investigation.
