An interesting phenomenon occurred last week in the table of the most watched films on Netflix, when almost no film managed to register a worthy figure, and at the same time a clear fault line separated the world table from the Israeli one.
The first five are almost exactly the same: in first place is the American action film “Lou”, with a reasonable number of weekly viewing hours of 46 million; In second place is “Blonde”, the film about the life of the Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe starring Ana de Armas with a figure of 37 million viewing hours; In third place is “Taking Revenge” with only 16 million viewing hours; And in the 4th and 5th places the American film “The Blues of the Jazz Singer” and the French film “Athena” – both are defined as “social dramas”, when in the world they are ranked in the order indicated and in Israel in the opposite order. “Athena” is also the only one of the ten who does not speak English.
Here a fault line is drawn, which seems to pass in the region of the 10 million viewing hours per week. It can be assumed that films that only reach this region are not popular enough to be ranked in a similar way all over the world, so it can be seen that the entire second five are completely different between the world and Israel – and not only that, but none of the 6-10 places in the world are available for viewing at all for Netflix customers in Israel
This is the movie “Minions & More 1”, for which even a name in Hebrew has not yet been found, in sixth place; “Last Seen Alive” in seventh place; “Outlaws” in the eighth; “Inheritance” in the ninth; and “Father in Tito” in the tenth.
