Doha: Qatar entered the U-17 Asia Cup final round thanks to Malayalee Tahs. Annabi’s first goal of the game came from the boot of Tahsin Muhammad, a native of Kannur Valapatnam and Aspire Academy star, when Qatar defeated Lebanon 4-1 in the final match of the qualifying championship in Oman. Qatar qualified for next year’s Asia Cup as group winners.
Tahs’ attack ended in a goal in the seventh minute of the game. The player made a good move from the left wing and came to the box, breaking the opponent’s defensive fortress and shooting a shot that was the energy for victory for Qatar. After that, with the goal scored by three other players, Qatar defeated Lebanon and qualified for the Asia Cup as group winners.
Tahsin, who played in the first three matches of the tournament, won applause with his excellent assists. Tahsin became the first Indian to score in the national jersey of Qatar. Tahsin is the son of former varsity player Jamshid and Shaima. The Asia Cup will be played in the month of May 2023. Teams from Japan, Malaysia, Yemen, Vietnam, Australia, Tajikistan, Iran, Uzbekistan, South Korea, China, Afghanistan and Thailand have so far qualified along with Qatar.
