Indian users prefer WhatsApp over other apps to interact with businesses : Report

A recent survey revealed that people prefer communicating with businesses through WhatsApp over other social media in India.

WhatsApp is an app that is regularly used by everyone in India with a smartphone and an internet connection. WhatsApp is very helpful for communicating with family relations, friends, office colleagues, sending media including photos, videos, and sharing documents. Due to this millions of people are using WhatsApp.

In this case, the results of a study conducted by Kantar, a London-based data analytics and brand consulting firm, have made a stunning announcement about the interaction of the Indian people with WhatsApp.

It has been mentioned that India is the number one country in terms of users who want to communicate with businessmen and business organizations online and people like to communicate with businesses through WhatsApp as much as they do with their friends and family.

Kantar conducted a cross-country study titled “Business Messaging Usage” to understand the relationship between businesses and consumers and how they interact with each other. A surprising 86 percent of Indians report that they like to send messages to businesses at least once a week, compared to 66 percent globally.

In a report released by Kantar, it was mentioned that Indians are increasingly using WhatsApp for business communication. It has been found that more than 400 million Indian citizens prefer to use WhatsApp app more than any other social media.

70 percent of respondents to this survey feel that sending a text message via WhatsApp helps them get a response more quickly than contacting them via mail and customer service center.

A study conducted by Kantar with support from Meta has indicated that there has been a major change in the way people interact with merchants after the Corona lockdown period. Whereas in India, 72 percent of people have frequently texted merchants and 75 percent said they have purchased products from merchants or businesses they texted.

“We are witnessing a massive shift in the way people and businesses interact. Today, customers not only want a quick and easy way to interact with brands, but also want to connect with a brand,” said Ravi Garg, director of business messaging at Metta.

In India, with demand increasing during the festive season, the WhatsApp Business platform serves as a simple and scalable solution for many brands to stay close to their customers, deliver product information and deliver personalized offers.”
