Riyadh: Health Minister Fahad bin Abdurrahman Aljalaj has said that 100 projects will be implemented with private participation in the next five years. He was inaugurating the Global Health Fair at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center. The capital investment potential of the private sector in the field of health is 4800 crore riyals.

The minister said that two medical cities in the north and south of the country, a 900-bed center for rehabilitation and long-term care of patients, reorganization of primary health services in 200 centers, air medical transport and radiology services across the country are important.

The Ministry has also established a Call Center to comprehensively develop the licensing and facilitation process for investors in the health sector. The Minister said that one of the main objectives of ‘Vision 2030’ is to localize the manufacturing and distribution of pharmaceutical and medical equipment.

As part of the World Health Forum, he met with representatives of private health sector officials, small- and medium-sized enterprises, insurance companies and local pharmaceutical factories to develop relationships and raise awareness about investment potential in the health sector. The World Health Forum aims to create synergies between the public and private sectors, create investment opportunities, organize action towards Vision 2030 and drive digital transformation in the healthcare sector.
