The Holy See calls on all countries to do everything possible to end the war in Ukraine.

While addressing the 73rd Executive Committee meeting of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, UNHCR, Francesca Di Giovanni, Deputy Director of the Multidisciplinary Department of the Vatican Office for Relations with States and International Organizations, said this.

Francesca also pointed out the need for the authorities to lean on the path of dialogue for lasting peace. Francesca said, “This is a dramatic and historic moment, when the number of refugees continues to defy durable solutions and available humanitarian aid, and at a time when violence, persecution and conflict are undermining our sense of brotherhood and the unity of our human family.”

Francesca pointed out the need to find the root causes of people being forced to leave their country and their homes and to create conditions where citizens can live in their own country with peace, security and dignity.
