Have you always dreamed of visiting the highest part of the Statue of Liberty? For the first time since March 2020, when the area was closed to traffic due to the Corona restrictions, you can now visit it.
While other parts of the iconic New York symbol were opened during the pandemic, the Crown remained closed for over two and a half years. The National Park Authority, which is responsible for sites of this type in New York, planned to open the place for the first time in October in order to celebrate the statue’s 136th anniversary, but this did not happen.
“The residents were very happy about the news,” said Jerry Willis, a spokesman for the Statue of Liberty monument. “The officials wanted to open this place for a long time, but several factors stood in the way. Among other things, the place needs to hire many employees who will manage the specific area of the crown in a safe way.
