Tiruppuvanam: Due to reduction in the routes of the government town buses from Tiruppuvanam to Madurai, there is a situation where passengers are waiting for several hours.

More than 10,000 people commute to Madurai daily from the surrounding areas of Tiruppuvanam. As the town buses were being operated continuously, the passengers were going to Madurai without difficulty.

The Tiruppuvanam branch office alone generated revenue of 3 to 4 lakh rupees.

After declaring free for women, the number of routes during the day has been reduced due to reduced revenue and unable to maintain the buses. Madurai suburban branch buses have been stopped.

You have to wait for a long time for the bus. There are no town buses to Madurai from 9:45 am to 10:45 am.

As such, the authorities have stopped the running of town buses at specific times by verbal order.

Due to this, passengers are taken from Thirupuvanam to Madurai in share autos and vans. Passengers travel with fear in share autos at night. Therefore, more buses should be operated from Thirupuvanam as per the old system.
