A shocking incident took place near Sathyamangalam where a 14-year-old son killed a mother who scolded her son for not studying properly and threw a stone on her head while she was sleeping.
Arulselvan hails from Sungakaranpalayam village near Sathyamangalam in Erode district. A civil contractor, he is survived by wife Yuvarani, son Sanjay and daughter Darshini Sri. Yuvarani was working as a business assistant in an electricity board office in Puliyampatti, Punchai. His son Sanjay was studying in ninth standard in a private school in Sathyamangalam.
In this case, it is said that his mother Yuvarani used to scold Sanjay for not doing well in school. After that, he was admitted in a hostel in Sathyamangalam private school a few days ago. Sanjay, who was at home for the last two days, was being scolded by his parents, so there was a fight between the two.
Then at midnight Yuvarani, son Sanjay and daughter Darshini Sri were sleeping at home. Then Sanjay, in his rage on his mother, brought the hollow block stone used for building houses and put it on the head of the sleeping mother Yuvarani. In this, he sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot.
Then Sanjay ran away from the house when his daughter Darshini Shree started shouting. Punjai Puliambatti police and Sathyamangalam DSP Chandrasekaran, who reached the spot on the information given by their relatives and villagers, conducted an investigation. After that, the police recovered the body and sent it to Sathyamangalam Government Hospital for postmortem.
