Former Txarango Sergi Carbonell will release his first album as a singer-songwriter in Girona

Ex-Txarango Sergi Carbonell will officially premiere his new album at the Girona Auditorium. Carbonell, co-founder and one of the composers of the Ripollès group, will present Refugand, his new solo project as a singer-songwriter, on March 18, 2023 in the Sala de Cambra, during the new season of the Auditorium.

Away from the festive music of Txarango, and after having composed four solo piano albums, Sergi Carbonell is traveling on new paths with a first album as a singer that will be published at the beginning of 2023. With references such as Jorge Drexler, Bon Iver or Sufjan Stevens, Refugi features Carbonell on guitar, synthesizers and vocals; Marta Roma on cello, bass, trumpet and synthesizers; Sebastià Gris on guitar, bass and synthesizers, and Joan Palà on drums and percussion.

He published this Thursday The tripthe first song on the album and a “love letter to the entire journey of the group and to the people who were part of it”.

This performance is one of those that the Girona equipment has already advanced for the new season, together with Núria Graham (January 20), Jordi Savall (January 22), Mahler Chamber Orchestra (February 17), and the Segona by Brahms with the OBC (March 5).
