Riyadh: Police arrested four people who begged in Saudi Arabia. A Pakistani, two Bangladeshis and a Saudi citizen were arrested from Turaif in the northern region. They were caught during the investigation conducted by the police. The native citizen who was caught was collecting directly from the people.

Pakistanis and Bangladeshis used to beg money from lorry drivers through one another. Begging is prohibited by law in Saudi Arabia. The law stipulates that direct or indirect begging is punishable by imprisonment of not less than three months and fine. A special number facility etc. has been set up in each province to inform the police if anyone is seen doing this kind of begging.
