TotalEnergies: negotiations still in progress, without “progress” for the moment according to the CGT

So far, no breakthrough: Negotiations between unions and management on wages began Thursday evening at the headquarters of TotalEnergies, on the 17th day of a strike that created a mess in service stations and swelled in a call to a big day of national strike, from transport to civil servants, next Tuesday.

“We will be there to negotiate until the end of the night if necessary”declared arriving Isabelle Montaudon, negotiator of the CFE-CGC, shortly before 8 p.m., in the business district of La Défense where the negotiations are being held.

But two hours after the start of the discussions, “there is no progress”reported during an interruption of the session a CGT negotiator, Thierry Defresne, according to whom the management has only put back on the table the proposal for a 6% increase in wages, made in the morning by way of the press.

“There is a common will of all the trade unions at a time when we are talking about reaching an acceptable compromise”commented CFDT coordinator Geoffrey Caillon, adding: “Perhaps it will be long, but we want to find an agreement to meet the expectations of employees”.
