SAMAA TV, a news channel in Pakistan, conducted an investigative investigation. Using data from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Human Rights, the study revealed some shocking results. Accordingly, 21,900 women have been sexually assaulted in Pakistan between 2017 and 2021. This means that on average 12 women are sexually assaulted every day, or one woman every two hours.
However, the conviction rate for these crimes is very low. In 2022, the police registered 2,856 cases of sexual offenses against women. But only 4 percent of these cases have gone to trial. Only 0.2 percent were convicted of sex crimes during this period.

Similarly, 1,957 homicides have occurred in Pakistan in the last 4 years. According to a study by the United Nations, Pakistan ranks first among the countries where judicial proceedings against women are conducted. Similarly, according to a study by the World Economic Organization, Pakistan is the second most sexually exploitative country after Afghanistan.
