Anderlecht ‘apologize’ for fan behavior against West Ham

Several overflows occurred during the match between West Ham and Anderlecht (2-1). Four police officers were injured and thirteen people were arrested.

Anderlecht have issued an apology after their supporters lit rockets and threw seats at West Ham during their 2-1 Europa Conference League defeat on Thursday.

Police had to intervene to separate the two groups of supporters and the Belgians said their fans’ behavior was unacceptable. “The club will go ahead with the fans because we do not tolerate this kind of behavior, not in our stadium or anywhere else.said an Anderlecht spokesperson. “We will talk about this with the fans and certainly with UEFA and we strongly condemn this. We want to apologize to West Ham for this behavior.»
