Environmental activists threw soup on Van Gogh’s ‘Sunflowers’ at the National Gallery in London.
Environmental activists from the Just Stop Oil movement threw tomato soup on Van Gogh’s masterpiece on Friday morning The sunflowersexhibited at the National Gallery in London, the band announced.
According to press images published by the movement, which calls for the immediate cessation of any new oil or gas project, two activists threw the contents of two cans of soup on the work, the price of which is estimated at more than of $84 million.
“Which is more valuable, art or life? … are you more concerned about protecting a painting or protecting our planet and its inhabitants?” chanted the activists in front of the table covered with soup.
