Review: FIFA 23 – The Farewell Game

by time news

Just before parting ways with the FIFA brand and changing the name of the game to EA SPORTS FC, Electronic Arts launched FIFA 23 and this year it also introduced several new features. Thus, alongside improvements and changes to the game itself, there was also added the World Cup mode that will be held in Cutter, a joint game mode (Crossplay) where console players and the computer can play against each other, Ultimate Team, a women’s soccer team and innovative technology that presents the game in a realistic mode that has never been seen before.

HyperMotion2

Seasoned players will feel the changes in FIFA 23 from the first kick. The game features some of this year’s top upgrades under the HyperMotion2 umbrella, extensive motion capture and machine learning technology such as changes to on-field interactions, physics and down to the minute details.

Gaming experience has been improved thanks to the new technology, which is based on the capture of real movement of players, combined with innovative AI. Thanks to the state-of-the-art system, you can experience an improved game movement that shows more realistic animations such as the improvement of the acceleration in the game and the kicking of the ball.

EA also introduced thePower Shot, the power shot that will allow you to achieve excellent results at the price of taking the risk of losing the ball. It adds a power and accuracy ability meter with which you can manually aim at the target, at the cost of the action’s execution time. AcceleRATE Divides the players into one of three categories of speed. The first allows shorter and more agile players to burst forward but will quickly slow them down, the second allows smaller and stronger players to start off slow but reach a higher top speed.

FIFA 23’s big addition is MOMENTS, a new set of single player challenges that allow you to earn coins for purchasing card packs and players. These can be minimal skill challenges, or you can replay key moments in a great player’s career.

Another new game mode is the Tutorial Center, which acts as an onboarding process for new players in FIFA 23. There are tutorial videos to watch before your first lessons in the game, plus drills and challenges to help start the game off on the right foot. It’s a situation that other sports games should take inspiration from to help new players get to know the game better. For me, this is definitely not a given.

FIFA 2023 is available for Xbox Series X|S consoles, PlayStation 5 as well as for the previous generation consoles Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and the PC. It is available in a standard edition and an Ultimate edition which includes a bonus of 4600 FIFA points.

FIFA 2023 is distributed in Israel by Adli United at a price starting from NIS 177 for the Switch and NIS 269 for the current generation consoles. The Ultimate edition is expected to be sold for NIS 399.
