There are nine types of savings schemes implemented by the Department of Posts.
Account holders in these schemes are provided with a passbook for recording transactions.
In this case, the Post Office has introduced the ‘e-passbook’ facility so that customers can easily manage their passbook through their mobile number.
Through this you can know the balance of savings accounts and complete transaction details of Post Office Savings Account at any time.
You can know the minimum transaction details of Post Office Savings Account Wealth and General Provident Fund Accounts.
A ‘link’ for e-passbook facility has been provided on the website of India Post at www.indiapost.gov.in.
Postal officials say that the customer’s mobile number must be linked to the savings accounts to avail this facility.
