Former Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni gave an interesting answer to the question of who is his ideal role model.
Even though cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s international cricket career is over, keeping him out of the game was never an option. On and off the field, Dhoni has been one of the most inspirational personalities. Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the only world captain to win three major ICC trophies. Under Dhoni’s leadership, India have won the T20 World Cup in 2007, the ODI World Cup in 2011 and the Champions Trophy in 2013.
MS Dhoni has given an interesting answer to the question of who is his role model. While interacting with a large number of school students at MS Dhoni Global School owned by Chennai Super Kings in Bengaluru, former India captain MS Dhoni answered questions raised by the students.
Speaking then, he said, “My cricketing role model has always been Sachin Tendulkar. I was just like you. I watched Sachin play and wanted to bat like him. Only then did I realize I couldn’t play like him. But in my heart, I always wanted to play like him. He has always been a role model for me.”
And when asked what was his favorite subject in school, Dhoni’s response sent the crowd into laughter. “Does sport qualify as a subject?” He replied with a smile.
Dhoni, who has retired from international cricket, is still leading CSK in the IPL and has even said that he will play in the IPL 2023. Dhoni was reinstated as CSK captain after Jadeja’s mid-way exit in IPL 2022.
