NoWhen all of Kerala trembles after listening to Rabali, when fierce disputes arise on what is faith and superstition, what will happen if such a film is released in Kerala? Is it not sure that there will be a protest in the theaters? But the Kannada film Kantara, which shocked even the Malayalis, is garnering applause.
The art of cinema is a wonderland of visions. That is the feeling that captures the people in the theater. Who are the heirs of the forest? The tribals who guard the forest, or the natives who have taken over the forest? The government? Or God who created all this to make room for wild animals? A resolution that has a lot of potential to lead to ideological objections. If we look at the story only, where will be the courage to re-present this theme which is not so new and has come up many times?.
Rishabh Shetty, the director and hero, should be given a horse. Along with him, Arvind Kashyap, the cameraman who captured the audience every second with thrilling shots, deserves a big round of applause. Kantara is not the old shots seen in Tamil and even Malayalam movies as rural beauty including Jellikett, cockfighting and festivals.

From the background score to each of the songs in the film, where Theiyakav and the temple are very important, the rhythm is reminiscent of folklore. Kantara’s success is a good lesson for many films that try old wine in new bottles and fail.
The film, which released alongside Mani Ratnam starrer Ponniyin Selvan, has topped the box office. Rocky Bhai, who changed the history of Kannada cinema, also fell in front of Kanthara. Another point of interest is that Kantara was produced by the same Homeballe Films that KGF took up. There is a small Mallu connection even before the film is released in Malayalam, Kanthara also has Kishor who is famous for playing villain roles in many films as the villain in Pulimurukan. Sapthami Gowda is a young actress who is playing the heroine.

Kantara, which is breaking collection records, will soon reach Malayalam as well. Prithviraj, who posted that he was surprised to see the movie, has announced that the movie will be brought to the Malayalee audience. It does not promise a huge star cast, stunning graphics or other cutting-edge technology, any moviegoer can buy a ticket for Kanthara.
