RIYADH – The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) has issued an order to revoke the licenses of seven recruitment companies and offices for violating recruitment regulations. The ministry also suspended the licenses of eight other recruitment firms pending a final decision on complaints filed against them.

Punitive measures have been taken against the institutions for the violation of the labor laws in the months of August and September 2022. Ministry spokesman Saad Al Hammad said the ministry has revoked the licenses of more than 400 recruitment firms in the past two years within the structural framework of the recruitment sector.

He said the ministry’s focus in revoking licenses or suspending the operations of recruitment offices is not to take punitive action against violations but to improve services in a way that protects the rights of all concerned.

He said the ministry would not tolerate serious violations and would seek to revoke the license and permanently suspend the firm’s operations. The spokesperson said serious violations include violation of labor rights, human trafficking and failure to address complaints of citizens and residents.
