Uttara Merur: In the villages of Uttara Merur Union, the work of the absorption pit system to store domestic waste water in the ground has been intensified.

A project is being implemented to store and treat domestic waste water in a closed manner at the point of origin. Sewage discharged from homes and other places pollutes canals and contaminates ground water.

Due to this, the government has implemented a plan to set up a suction pit to store the waste water coming out of the houses in a closed position in the earth near the house. According to this, in the first phase, 815 houses in Uttaramerur Union are to be constructed with suction wells.

In this regard, Uttara Merur PTO, Muthu Kumar said:

In Uttarmerur union, this scheme is being implemented in all 73 panchayats. 815 houses have been selected in Uttarmerur union in the first phase to carry out this work.

At the rate of 10 thousand rupees, 81 lakh 50 thousand rupees have been allocated for an individual suction well and the works for this have started and are in progress.

This is what he said.
