Oothukottai: Through Oothukottai power sub-station, electricity is supplied to Oothukottai, Thomperampedu, Dharatshi, Senjiakaram, Barandur.
Also, from here, electricity is supplied to rural areas such as Ponthavakkam, Berinchery, Kachure, Seethanchery, Koonipalayam, Bennalurpet and more than 20 villages around.
Electricity is distributed to the villages in the above rural areas through wires from the sub-station, under the bridge on the road to Tiruvallur.
In this, the plants around the power transformer on the lower part of the bridge look like bushes.
Due to this, if there is a fault in the transformer during an emergency, it has become impossible to repair it.
Therefore, the social activists expect the district power authorities to take action and remove the bushes surrounding the transformer.
