Thiruvananthapuram: Kovid-19 has been confirmed for 4547 people in Kerala today. Thiruvananthapuram 709, Ernakulam 616, Kozhikode 568, Thrissur 484, Kollam 474, Kannur 371, Kottayam 226, Idukki 203, Palakkad 176, Pathanamthitta 175, Alappuzha 172, Wayanad 168, Malappuram 159 and Kasaragod 46 were confirmed in the districts today.

50,638 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. The weekly infection population ratio (WIPR) is 46 wards in 39 local bodies above 10. There will be strict control here.

There are currently 2,22,466 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 2,17,083 are under home / institutional quarantine and 5,383 are under hospital surveillance. A total of 325 people were newly admitted to the hospital.

At present, out of 64,738 Kovid cases, only 7 per cent are admitted to hospitals / field hospitals.

Kovid-19 has been confirmed as the cause of 57 deaths in the last few days. In addition, 70 deaths have been reported which have been appealed by the Central Government under the new guidelines of the Supreme Court. This brings the total death toll in the state to 35,877.

Today, 12 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the state. 4234 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 274 is not clear. Twenty-seven health workers were affected by the disease.

6866 people who were diagnosed and treated were cured. Thiruvananthapuram 959, Kollam 439, Pathanamthitta 18, Alappuzha 338, Kottayam 487, Idukki 476, Ernakulam 1134, Thrissur 781, Palakkad 284, Malappuram 377, Kozhikode 792, Wayanad 286, Kannur 394 and Kasaragod 101 were cured. With this, 64,738 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 49,64,375 have so far been freed from Kovid.
