The Ballon d’Or award will be officially awarded tomorrow (Monday), and according to “Marca” the Spanish league is going to record a winning streak. Karim Benzema will win the Ballon d’Or for the first time, while Gabi will win the Young Player of the Year and Thibaut Courtois the Goalkeeper of the Year.
The award will be given officially and it is only a report, but the brand is one of the biggest media outlets in Spain. Benzema will win the Ballon d’Or for the first time if he does win, after a season in which he led Real to the Spanish and European championships. Benzema will be the fourth winner in the last 6 times the award has been presented to come from Real Madrid.
Courtois will be the first winner of the Yashin Award since 2019. In 2018 he unofficially won the award as a Real player, while Gabi played 48 games for Barcelona last year, scoring twice and providing six assists.
