Brisbane: India’s warm-up matches for the Twenty20 World Cup have begun. In the first warm-up match against Australia, the batting form of KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav is a big plus point for India. Rahul had some special shots while both of them scored smashing fifties. Rahul against Pat Cummins by firing the helicopter shot made famous by MS Dhoni.

KL Rahul hit star Aussie pacer Pat Cummins with a Dhoni-style helicopter shot in the fifth over of the Indian innings. Rahul scooped Cummins’ ball through deep mid-wicket with ease. But on the next ball, Cummins took revenge by throwing the Katta bouncer at Rahul’s head. Cummins’ bouncer hit Rahul’s helmet. However, Rahul played undeterred and completed a brilliant half-century in the match.

After losing the toss at the Gabba, India scored 186 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs on the strength of half-centuries from KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav. Rahul scored 57 off 33 balls and Surya scored 50 off 33 balls. There were three sixes and six fours in Rahul’s innings. Skipper Rohit Sharma returned with 15 runs. Kane Richardson took four, Mitchell Starc, Glenn Maxwell and Ashton Agar took one wicket each for the Aussies.
