Thirty years ago, his son Anantha Padmanabhan released a picture of a secret ring exchange that took place in front of director Padmarajan’s film. Jayaram and Parvathy are the actors in Mothiram Maral, which is not part of the film. Anantha Padmanabhan has now released a picture of her secretly changing the ring in front of Padmarajan’s picture before they got married. Handing over the ring was a heartfelt expression of love by Jayaram, who loves and respects Padmarajan the most in his life. The rare image was shared along with a video message shared by Anantha Padmanabhan on social media congratulating Jayaram who played Arvarkadiyan Nambi in Ponniyin Selvan. Also attached is Jayaram’s reply message to Ananthapadmanabhan who praised his performance.
Full text of Ananta Padmanabhan’s voice message:
“Hi Anna, I met Ponniyin Selvan last week. The picture is awesome and the performance is amazing. Nambi is actually a comic version of Marthandavarma’s madman Channan. You are lighting the area where the character is coming from. It was Nambi’s performance that changed the whole mood till then and brought it to a lighter mood. I don’t know how many people realized that. Although Karthi is doing humor, the body language we have seen in it is the same. But Nambi does it very differently. The recent comic body language is carefully set aside.
In general, saying ‘hey’ in everything, startling, raising the shoulders and so on have been completely avoided. I think there is a lot of research behind this. Maybe after watching old tamil movies or maybe done with manodharma. Anyway, the outdoors. When playing such a role, it can suddenly become over-theatrical. It has been the correct balance without falling at all. I saw it in Malayalam. We get tired of watching Tamil dubbing in Malayalam. But it doesn’t seem like it. When my son and I went to see him, he was sitting and laughing.
Great acting. I think this is the only time after Thenali that a full-length comedy is being done in Tamil. The picture is original and this is the universe. If you want to be a universe you need a class Chumma Baahubali, RRR, KGF is not enough. I liked very much. Excellent work. It really feels like seeing a Thrissur Pooram. Looking forward to the second part of Ponniyin Selvan. What is Nambi, he is still an enigma. Waiting to know if he is an avadhuta or a counterpart of god. Let the next one come soon. Jayaram’s Answer:
“Thank you papa. If I do a film and get a list of people who have called me personally, I would be shocked. Rajinikanth is receiving daily compliments from here and there, or from other languages. I have never had so many bouquets and flowers delivered to my home. Nambi reached deep into the people. Pappan is right, I did it after doing some homework. This is the most important character in that book. Arvarkadiyan Nambi is the character most liked by people after Vanthiyathevan whenever he acted in drama before this. He is a spy, he is a terrorist. There was a very nice scene where he was a terror.
Isn’t there a fight that has emerged after that chariot goes under the water, in which Nambi pulls a sword from a stick and stabs everyone. But if that scene is shown, it is said that there is a possibility of some issue and it was cut. A lot of Nambi’s scenes were cut. Ponniyin Selvan is even more spectacular in the second part. A lot of care was taken. That’s why, as Pappan said, there were no other pranks. Thanks anyway. Check out the Tamil version as well. Earlier Tamil was spoken. Watching Tamil will be a bit more beautiful. Have a look. I’m very happy, I have to ask my mother. I am enjoying Nambi’s success like this. Padmarajan Sir would have been so happy.
