Jeddah: King Salman said that Saudi Arabia was and still is the mediator of peace and a beacon of humanity to the whole world. The king was addressing the council members during the opening of the third year of the eighth session of the Shura Council, the Saudi parliament. The King delivered the speech through video conference in the presence of Crown Prince Amir Muhammad bin Salman.

King Salman’s speech clarified the internal and external policies of the country. Saudi Arabia has laid the foundation for peace, stability and justice. There has been great development in many areas. The country is witnessing a comprehensive development movement aimed at the development of new sectors. It also aims to support local content, facilitate business environment and empower citizens. Saudi Arabia is moving rapidly towards meeting environmental challenges and climate change. King Salman also said that the country has provided assistance in the field of food and agricultural security worth about 2.8 billion riyals.

The Saudi ruler called on Iran to fulfill its nuclear obligations and fully cooperate with the IAEA. King Salman also expressed hope that the UN agreement in Yemen will lead to an end to the crisis and a political solution. On the issue of Iraq, King Salman said that the security and stability of Iraq is an essential pillar for the security and stability of the region.
