The charity shop of the AWO district association Paderborn has already recorded more than 21,000 euros in donations and sales this year. “We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to supporting the social projects in the AWO multi-generation house with their donations and commitment,” says Kerstin Lohmann, co-initiator of the charity shop.
“Now, however, autumn and winter are just around the corner and we are looking for unusual designer treasures for this time of year again. High-quality handbags, cocktail fashion and unusual jewelery also go well with our shop – as do small pieces of furniture, mirrors and unusual decorative pieces.”
Toys, tree and wooden ornaments wanted
For the Christmas season, old tree and wooden decorations, historical toys for collectors and Christmas porcelain from well-known manufacturers are also being sought. “We would also be happy to come to your home to look together for treasures that fit into our range.” All donations and proceeds from the AWO charity shop go to a good cause.
In addition to the donations, the AWO Charity Shop is also supported by voluntary work. “I love dealing with the different people who come to our shop and I’ve always been interested in fashion,” says Margit Hallwaß, who has been with the charity shop since it opened.
Working in the shop is a personal enrichment and an important contribution to sustainability. She agrees with her colleague Rosemarie Schmidt, who adds: “It’s just fun to make people happy with beautiful pieces at fair prices.” It is also particularly motivating to support the social projects of the multi-generation house with your commitment.
The “discount tent” is in front of the store until October 30th
The AWO Charity Shop is open Tuesday to Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. From October 17th to 30th, the “discount tent” will again be in front of the store.
