Because of Shabbat candles: an 80-year-old woman died in a fire in Kiryat Tivon

A special investigation team in collaboration with police investigators determined today (Monday) that the fire that occurred over the weekend in Kiryat Tivon was caused by the fire of Shabbat candles. Mayra Tal, 80 years old, died in the fire. Her husband, also 80 years old, is hospitalized in serious condition.

The investigation team again called on the public to beware of unattended fires. The report of the fire was received by the MDA on Friday evening, and upon the arrival of the forces at the house, the woman was pronounced dead. MDA paramedic Saleh Tabash said at the time that “when we arrived at the scene, we saw thick smoke coming from the house. The man was rescued while he was conscious, and after the extinguishing operations were finished, they entered the house and saw a woman with burns difficult”.
