Disturbing documentation: She discovered that a strange man was peeking into her room regularly – and that’s what she did

Gosta Janusauskaita, a 22-year-old model, born in Lithuania and a graduate of the University of Florida, went viral on the social network TikTok, after sharing her disturbing story. She released footage from her home doorbell security camera, showing a stranger stalking her outside her bedroom window. She continued to examine the security cameras and discovered that the harasser returns every Sunday night, minutes after she returns home.

In the video she shared, the stalker can be seen arriving at her house at night, looking towards the front door and then continuing to the window of her nearby room and watching her sleep. She explained that she found out about the threat only after her mother decided to install a security camera in the house. Gosta said that in one of the cases she returned to her house at 11:10 p.m. – and he showed up only one minute later. Her bed was stuck to the window, meaning his face was only inches from her face while she slept.

According to her, she reported the stalker to the police several times, but they simply suggested that she close the blinds and lock the windows – when, according to her, they did not offer any additional assistance in catching him. Fearing for her safety, she set a trap outside that would report when the trespasser was present. In one case, his mother caught him red-handed and yelled at him, but he calmly walked away and continued to return to the scene in the following days.

In follow-up videos, Gosta said that at first she didn’t believe the doorbell cameras were necessary in the safe community she lived in, but her mother insisted. “God bless my mother’s intuition, because it absolutely saved my life. The same day we set up the cameras, that was the night we captured this footage,” she told the Daily Mail. Both were bothered to see how quickly he came to her house after her: “He knew my schedule and knew when I was coming home.”

After the first time it happened, Gosta’s mother called the police, who told her to lock her doors and keep the blinds closed. “The police didn’t do anything, so we brought the camera closer to my room and caught him going back there,” she said. Gusta was not satisfied with the advice of the police, so she decided to prepare a “mouse trap” for the stalker. She described how she tied a rope between two trees outside her window, which would cause a man to trip as he passed by and thus alert her to his presence.

The young woman said that she used to smoke through her window every day and feared that he could have attacked her at any given moment: “He could have easily dragged me somewhere,” she said. According to her, one night she returned to her house around 2 am and went to sleep, and a few minutes later, she heard him passing through her mouse trap. “Immediately my heart sank to my stomach and I panicked,” she said. When she checked the security camera, since the shutters were closed, she saw that he was standing outside. She ran to her mother’s room to wake her up. She woke up, ran to her daughter’s room and opened the blinds: “She started yelling and banging on the window like a crazy person,” Gusta said, “He wasn’t scared at all. He didn’t even run. He just walked away calmly.”

The mother and daughter called the police again, but they repeated the same offer. The 22-year-old said: “This is exactly how women are murdered, because no one really listens to us and we are constantly in danger.” Since then, Gusta has had time to move to another apartment and said that she is considering taking self-defense classes – and even wears protective equipment. “After the incident, I started carrying a pocket knife and pepper spray. This alone helped me feel a little safer every time I left the house. I knew I had something on me that I could protect myself in case of need.”

She added: “It was very difficult for me to deal with the situation. I still have anxiety attacks when I go to sleep. I could hear a leaf falling on the floor outside my bedroom window as my senses have become heightened since the incident. I have also had a few episodes of panic attacks. There were times when I thought that he came back and I ran to wake up my mother, but after we checked the cameras we found out that no one was there.”
