Palakkad: The court sentenced the man who raped a tribal girl to three years of rigorous imprisonment.
Pramod, 43, hails from Kallepulli, Palakkad district, Kerala state. Last October, 2018, he raped a 13-year-old tribal girl who came to watch TV at a friend’s house. Based on the complaint filed by the girl’s parents, the Kasaba police conducted an investigation and filed a charge sheet. The case came up for hearing in the Palakkad fast-track special court yesterday. Judge Sanju sentenced the accused to three years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 25,000. Advocate Sobana appeared for the government.
