The new Apple TV 4K adds HDR10+, increases virtual storage, and keeps Ethernet only on the higher-priced model.

The new models are priced at $129 for 64GB of storage and Wi-Fi or $149 for 128GB of storage and an Ethernet port. Previous models started at $179 for a 32GB model. Both new models run on the A15 Bionic chip, which is the chip that powers the Apple iPhone 13 lineup. This will bring speed and responsiveness to gamers on their Apple TV. It will also enable the new HDR10+ output option, along with existing traditional audio combinations of Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos 7.1 and 5.1.

Apple sticks to the much-improved silver aluminum remote control design, which is easier to use and locate on the sofa than the previous black glass touchpad model. This 3rd generation remote control ships with USB-C, replacing the previous model’s Lightning connector. Unfortunately, Apple has not implemented Find My on the remote control or provide a way for the remote control to emit a sound to help locate it.

Notably, the two Apple TV 4K offerings have some notable differences apart from storage. The pricier model only offers an Ethernet port, which is the only one that acts as a frontier router. Smart home accessories theme.
