Drug trafficking: the daughter of ex-minister Elisabeth Moreno released, her son-in-law sentenced to one year in prison

by time news

This is relief for Anaïs S. The daughter of former minister Elisabeth Moreno was released by the correctional court of Évry-Courcouronnes (Essonne), following the prosecutor’s requisitions. This 31-year-old mother was tried for “non-justification of resources” in connection with drug trafficking. Her husband, William E. appeared for him, for possession and transfer of cocaine and cannabis, between April 2021 and May 2022, from Le Lamentin (Martinique) to Morsang-sur-Orge (Essonne), where he lives with his companion.

“My client was released for part of the charges against him”, indicates his lawyer, master Robin Binsard, who disputes the label of “large trafficker”. William E. was sentenced to a flexible one-year prison term for acquiring and transporting narcotics in Martinique.

The raclette machine was hiding cocaine

On April 12, 2021, Martinican customs intercepted a suspicious package containing a raclette machine destined for Grigny (Essonne), addressed by a certain “Christelle Laurent” to “Cindy Laurin”. The package contained cocaine. After expertise of the papillary traces, the gendarmes of Fort-de-France had identified William E., 29 years old, already known to justice for participation in a criminal association and money laundering. At the helm, the latter had explained that he had been offered to send this package for 3,000 euros. “I didn’t know what was in it, but it wasn’t candy,” he admitted.

A year later, in the spring of 2022, ten cannabis olives were found in his kitchen, in Morsang-sur-Orge, and around 150 grams of cocaine in the dressing room, on a suitcase and in the toilet bowl. Tried for drug trafficking in mainland France, “William E. was released”, confirms his lawyer. “It’s a relief, given the fairly heavy sentence of two years that had been required,” he continues. He now has the certainty of being able to remain free, and thus pursue his personal and professional projects. »

During the investigation, the police suspected Anaïs S., with no criminal record, of having “benefited” from her husband’s trafficking, in parallel with her job as a manager in a family insurance fund in Essonne, for which she receives 1,300 euros per month. Heard, she claimed to be flabbergasted by discovering the facts. This declaration, supported by her husband who certified that she was aware of nothing, finally convinced the court.
