Bengaluru: ‘Karnataka should be transformed into a 1 lakh crore dollar economy by 2025. A committee of high officials will be formed to achieve this goal,” said Chief Minister Basavaraj Pomi.

Based on the Planning Department’s Karnataka Economy Survey 2021 – 22, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bummy yesterday released a report titled ‘Karnataka One Trillion GDP, Vision’ prepared by businessman Mohandas Pai and famous writer Nisha Holla.

The target has been set to make Karnataka a 1 trillion dollar economy by 2025. A committee of experts will be constituted to prepare, monitor and implement the plan to achieve this. A project report with actionable plans will be ready by December.

The aim is to make the economy of the country 5 trillion dollars. For that, the target is to provide an economy of 1 trillion dollars from Karnataka. As part of the project, Mangalore Port will be expanded and the coastal industrial park developed to attract investment. Steps will be taken to reduce administrative costs.

It is necessary to raise individual economy. Growth should be seen in industry, agriculture and service sectors. Actions to be taken to accelerate growth in the industrial and private sectors will be mentioned in the project report.
