Amma restaurant has paid Rs.1.40 crore Dinamalar

Chennai: The Chennai Corporation has given Rs 1.40 crore to Tiruvallikeni City Co-operative Society. The employees have urged to pay the entire balance quickly.

Tiruvallikeni City Cooperative Society known as DUCS is functioning under the Cooperative Department. It supplies groceries, vegetables and cooking gas cylinders to all Amma restaurants run by Chennai Corporation.

For this purpose, the corporation has kept arrears of 36 crore rupees without paying the money due every month. Due to this, the Tiruvallikeni Municipal Corporation is unable to pay salary, Diwali bonus etc. to the employees. In this situation, the Corporation has paid 1.41 crore rupees out of the total balance.

Employees of Tiruvallikeni Cooperative Society said, ‘How is it fair to pay Rs 1.40 crore for the balance of Rs 36 crore? If the entire outstanding amount is not paid quickly, the union employees will join a sudden protest in front of the corporation head office as planned.
