Dumakuru-Asia’s largest solar power park at Dumakuru Pavagada has been inundated with rainwater, affecting power generation.

During the previous regime, Asia’s largest solar power generation park was set up in 2019 at Bhavagada, Dumakuru district, covering an area of 13,000 acres. The works were started during the Siddaramaiah regime and completed during the Kumaraswamy regime.

For this, 14 thousand 800 crore rupees were spent.

At present, 2,050 MW of electricity is generated. Due to continuous heavy rains for a few days, the park was flooded.

Varundi Lake fills up and the excess water flows into the park. There is no place for the water to go out. There are agricultural lands in surrounding areas. Farmers have put up barriers to prevent water from entering them.

Due to this, power production has been affected here. The water remains stagnant. Knowing this, a teenager swam in the solar power park and pointed out the damage.
