Thiruvananthapuram: Eldos Kunnappilly granted anticipatory bail in rape case. Anticipatory bail was granted with conditions. The court has asked him to appear before the investigating officer before 22nd of this month and not to interfere in the investigation in any way. Thiruvananthapuram Additional Sessions Court granted anticipatory bail.
The court has directed that the complainant or the witnesses should not be influenced or threatened in any way and influence as a public representative should not be used.
The first case against Eldos Kunnappilly was that he had abducted and caused bodily harm and insulted womanhood. Anticipatory bail was sought in this case. After this, the crime branch charged Eldos with rape.
Eldos Kunnappilly’s lawyers raised this issue during the hearing of the anticipatory bail hearing. Eldos argued in the court that the cases were politically motivated. Apart from this, the lawyer stated in the court that the complainant is also involved in the blackmail case and there are many cases against her.
Meanwhile, Eldos had also given an explanation to KPCC while in hiding. KPCC may consider the anticipatory bail application and proceed with further action against Eldos.
