At Real Valladolid they are encouraging Sean Weissman, who has not scored in 6 consecutive games – since the winning goal (0:1) over Almeria in the fourth round of La Liga. Yesterday the purple-whites impressed with 1:4 over Celta Vigo, but the Israeli striker was not on the list of scorers even though he played 72 minutes.
The hero of the victory was Sergio Leon, who entered in the 60th minute and scored a pair in the 74th and 79th minutes. The 33-year-old striker has scored 4 of Valladolid’s 10 goals in the league so far and he said: “Weisman and Guardiola will still score goals, it will come.”
Weissman had a very difficult time in La Liga in the relegation season (2020/21) but fortunately he is one of the biggest symbols of Valladolid’s convincing rise back to La Liga and one of the favorite players in the stands – something that cannot be said about his friend, Sergi Guardiola.
Yesterday Guardiola was booed and booed until he was replaced by Leon in the 60th minute and his story with the fans moved in a negative direction.
