Kozhikode’s native John Venni wins silver – Asian Chess | John Veni

Kozhikode: Kozhikode’s John Veni won the second position in the Under-14 Asian Chess Championship held in Bali, Indonesia. The achievement was achieved by scoring 6.5 points in 9 rounds. John had secured second place in the previous Rapid Championship as well. John is also representing India in the upcoming Blitz Championship.

He is a 9th class student of Chevayur Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. Pediatricians at KMCT Medical College Dr. Veni is the son of John Akkarakar and Jisha Veni. Sister Tessy Veni is a 6th standard student. The trainer is FIDE Master Mari Arul from Tamil Nadu.
