In eight episodes, M. the son of the century it will be directed by Joe Wright, the first take at Cinecitt in the coming weeks. In the first episodes, in particular, the founding of the Fasci Italiani in 1919 will be traced back to the speech by Mussolini in parliament after the murder of the socialist deputy Giacomo Matteotti in 1925. The particularity, alongside the historical reconstruction, will also be to tell the deprived of Mussolini and his personal relationships, including those with his wife Rachele, his lover Margherita Sarfatti and with other iconic figures of the time. Scurati’s novel, released by Bompiani in 2018 and already translated in 46 countries, was a great success with sales of over 600 thousand copies, kicking off a trilogy that also includes Man of Providence and, just released, The Last Days of Europe.
