A petition was filed in the government office on Thursday to issue identity cards to the differently abled persons of short height without delay.
In this regard, a petition submitted to Tirunelveli Collector V. Vishnu under the leadership of Sangha Thalaivar Perumal for the rights of all differently abled persons and defenders:
Many disabled persons with short height have applied for their ID proofs. Certificates should be issued to all of them immediately. People with stunted growth should be included in the severely handicapped list. Employment should be provided to the graduates. It was mentioned in the petition that steps should be taken to provide government apartment houses, make the stairs of buses lower, and set up low height counters suitable for disabled people at railway and bus stations.
