The famous wizard Harry Potter will appear on a series of coins published by Royal Mint, the organization responsible for manufacturing coins and banknotes in the United Kingdom.
«Royal Mint launches a collection of spellbinding coins to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Stone“, first volume of the adventures with the phenomenal success of the wizard and the fantastic universe created by the author JK Rowling, specifies Royal Mint in a press release. Harry Potter will feature alongside other unveiled collectibles featuring portraits of Queen Elizabeth II, who died last month, and two others with the official portrait of King Charles III.
The pound as volatile as Bitcoin
The series will include four rooms including a portrait of the famous wizard with round glasses but also the Hogwarts Express train, Professor Albus Dumbledore and the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The pieces will produce an optical effect that mimics the impact of a “thunderboltwhen they are rotated in front of the light, obtained thanks to a state-of-the-art laser that gives both a character “magicalto the documents, but also makes it possible to secure and authenticate them.
The pound sterling lost 0.78% against the dollar on Friday morning, and has lost 17.50% against the greenback since the start of the year. Last month, it hit an all-time low of 1.03 to the dollar after Liz Truss’ budget presentation.
According to the Bloomberg agency, the British currency has experienced almost the same level of volatility as bitcoin in recent weeks.
